It's All About People
The work in our residential units is really just about people. Over the years many residents have received Christian love, care and counsel. During their first two weeks, the needs of the resident are assessed as they settle into the routines at the units. The resident may then be introduced to a 6-8 week programme of biblically based teaching on all aspects of their problems. This would be in both one-to-one sessions and group devotional and teaching meetings. The programme would also incorporate a physical work aspect, for which our units are ideally suited.
This residential facilities are for people who are genuinely looking for a change of lifestyle. The programme offers a drug and alcohol free environment in which people can learn the social and practical skills necessary for them to enjoy a fulfilled lifestyle without the aid of addictive substances.
The aims of the programme are:
- To provide residential care, within a Christian framework, for people who have a dependence on alcohol or drugs
- To provide spiritual, emotional and physical help by providing a comprehensive, Biblically based programme to address such issues
Our desire is that the resident will not only find new life in Christ, but also that they will be discipled in the teachings of the word of God, giving them a firm foundation to build on as they leave to take up their place in society. They are places where residents are treated as an individuals and where they can discover their dignity and self worth and leave with a sense of purpose.
Unfortunately, we are currently only structured in our staffing to accommodate men.
